High Cycle, High Pressure Gas Valve
Gil Welsford
An area specialty gas company had been experiencing chronic valve failures on an automatic gas cylinder fill system. The various gases were operating with pressures anywhere from 2000 to 5000 psig. the existing automatic ball valve with "special" seats would leak after two to three months of operation. An F.S. Welsford Co. field sales engineer evaluated the situation and recommended a different valve configuation. The agreed upon solution  was a Co-Ax problem solver valve. The Co-Ax valve has been running non stop for over two years and no signs of any leakage. The valve cycles many times per day under not so ideal conditions. The customer is now implementing the Co-Ax valve on other gas cylinder fill systems throughout their firm, as well as other "problem areas".
