Self-Compensating Control Valve
Russ Bailey
A large international chemical company has taken advantage of an unique valve offered by Jordan Valve.  This company required a pressure control valve that would recieve a 4-20 mA from their DCS to maintain tight pressure control under varying loads.  The problem was that a conventional control valve could not respond quickly enough to rapid load changes.  A Jordan MK 66-45 was implemented.  This valve utililzes an air-loaded regulator with an integral extended range I/P transducer.  The company is currently using hundreds of these valves with accuracies tested to be within 2/100 psi of set point.  This configuration is available from 1/2" to 6" line sizes in most conventional and exotic metals for use on clean liquids, gases and steam.
