Coax Valve for Leak Detection System
Russ Bailey
A manufacturer of refrigerant filling and leak detection machines in the Philadelphia area utilized the Coax Direct Acting Electric Valves to replace conventional solenoid valves and check valves in their systems.  High pressure helium is used to leak test the refrigerant systems.  Then refrigerant is pumped in to complete the process.  Leaks developed commonly in the solenoid valves and the high pressure and rapid action of the system caused the check valves to fail regularly.  To date, almost 100 valves are in use without failure.  The use of the unique Coax valves reduced the potential leak points by eliminating the need for the check valves, and they provided a much more compact and dependable alternative to conventional solenoid valves.
